t recognized in the west has long been neglected. the issue of the creative method of the english writer is still open. referring to the chosen play in terms of elements of absurd, which determined the specificity of the author's writing, allows this research to contribute to the study of the peculiarities of pinter's work in the sphere of the theatre of the absurd. the aim of my course paper is to reveal characteristics of the theatre of the absurd in harold pinter’s play “the caretaker” in the context of contemporary 20th-century literary traditions. to reach the aim i put forward the following tasks: 1. to study the absurd as a concept of existentialist philosophy; 1. to investigate harold pinter’s contribution to development of the british absurd theatre; 1. to read and analyze the play “the caretaker” from the aspect of its specific elements; 1. to identify the elements of …

ma and highlights the origins of the phenomenon in england, its fundamental concepts, and distinctive features. the second paragraph, is on harold pinter as a theorist of the theatre of the absurd, is devoted to a study of the creative features of the writer's 20th-century writing, as well as the issue of harold pinter's use of the techniques of the theatre of the absurd. the third paragraph is dedicated on the analysis of the elements of absurd in pinter’s play “the caretaker” reveals the presence of absurdism in pinter's work, as well as stylistic features of the text. the conclusion of the work summarizes the research findings and conclusions in accordance with the aims and tasks set in the work. the marked features of the play's elements show that the creative method, which has combined the main literary trends of the 20th century is original and peculiar. image1.jpeg
