es of english and uzbek economic texts show that figurative devices are widely used in both languages, though they differ significantly in source domains, semantic features, and ideological connotations. at a time when english has become the primary medium for international economic communication, understanding english-language economic discourse and translating it accurately into uzbek has emerged as a critical issue in linguistics. in this process, metaphors and similes pose challenges in translation, as they convey not only linguistic content but also intercultural conceptual frameworks. therefore, the contrastive analysis of economic metaphors and similes in english and uzbek is essential not only for enriching linguistic competence, but also for improving translation quality, enhancing pedagogical methodologies in economic language instruction, and deepening intercultural communication. this master’s dissertation is thus highly relevant as it identifies the cultural and cognitive roots of figurative language in economic discourse and provides scientifically grounded recommendations for integrating these …
