uzbek languages. the comparative study of stylistic devices has always been one of the most interesting and disputable problems among great linguists. there have been a number of studies on the comparative analysis of stylistic devices. however, there is not deep study on the comparative analysis of simile in english and uzbek. as simile is considered one of the most commonly used stylistic devices we decided to carry out specific peculiarities of simile, its structure and functions in texts. the actuality of the course paper is explained with the requirement of the comparative study of different features of simile in english and uzbek as of great importance for learning english and being able to analyze the literary works. however, being aware of the peculiarities of stylistic devices in the english language comparing with uzbek one can translate literary works by great writers and poets and this knowledge gives an opportunity …
